mayavi2 software package provides scientific visualization package for 2-D and 3-D data, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mayavi2
mayavi2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mayavi2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mayavi2 *
You will get with mayavi2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
